Dr. Blechschmidt

Dr. Blechschmidt is a licensed psychologist and certified school psychologist in the state of Pennsylvania. She can also provide services in all states that have joined PsyPact. She provides both assessment and psychotherapy services. Assessment of learning difficulties, ADHD, differential psychological diagnosis, work-related difficulties, giftedness, and school accommodations are Dr. Blechschmidt’s areas of specialty.  She enjoys working with teens and adults seeking psychotherapy services.  Her areas of expertise include school-related issues, general anxiety, phobias, agoraphobia, bi-polar disorder, depression, OCD, relational and marriage issues, work performance issues, and college performance and adjustment problems.  

Dr. Blechschmidt earned a doctorate in clinical psychology from Widener University with concentrations in school psychology and neuropsychological assessment. She completed an APA accredited internship at Widener’s Neuropsychology Assessment Center. She served as the director of Moravian University Counseling center for several years.  In addition she has experience treating adolescents in a partial hospitalization program, children and adults in a psychiatric inpatient hospital, young adults at a college counseling center, and assessing elementary school students as a school psychology intern. During her postdoctoral residency she worked at a private practice providing psychotherapy and performing neuropsychological assessments for a wide array of referral questions including learning disabilities, ADHD, concussions, fitness for duty, differential diagnosis for complex cases, and memory problems. She also earned a master’s degree in clinical psychology from Chestnut Hill College, a master’s in business administration from Lehigh University, and a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Lafayette College.
